Demolition and site work for a residential development in Omaha, Nebraska. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
Demolition of Six (6) Structures: City of Omaha is requesting bids from qualified companies, herein called Bidder, Contractor, Vendor, Supplier, or other pronouns used in their place, for all work and/or goods set forth in the specifications. SCOPE OF WORK: The provisions of the specifications apply to the wrecking, removal, and demolition of buildings and structures. Such work shall include: a. Remove all non-masonry materials from structures. All concrete walls, floors, footings and foundation must be removed. The excavations shall be backfilled with clean fill dirt as stated in item #6. b. Remove all foundation walls and footings on any garage. Do not remove the slab unless it is broken or specified in the bid. c. All private concrete, asphalt, crushed rock or brick driveways and sidewalks must be removed. d. Remove any and all trash, rubbish and debris. e. Remove any trees four (4) inches in diameter or less within five (5) feet from any structure. f. Grading: Sec. 43-261. Maximum permissible slope resulting from excavation. (a)Limitation. It shall be unlawful to make an excavation or fill which causes a ground slope of more than 2.5 horizontal to one vertical. (b)Exceptions. (1)Slopes whose faces are protected by retaining walls or other systems which are designed by an engineer registered in the State of Nebraska. (2)Slopes whose vertical elevation change is less than six feet. (3)Slopes which are part of an active construction project that has been properly permitted. (4)Slopes of temporary surcharge piles. g. Silt fence will be required where needed to prevent runoff onto sidewalks, streets and neighbouring properties. This bid has an SEB reserve. More information can be found in the Attachments tab "SEB Participation Utilization form". The surety company issuing the bid bond should be licensed by the State of Nebraska and listed on the current edition of Circular 570 of the United States Department of the Treasury. Acceptable substitutes for a bid bond: a certified check, an official bank check, a cashier's checks drawn on a national bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the state, payable to City of Omaha, or lawful money of the United States, or a United States Government Bond (negotiable). LETTERS OF CREDIT ARE NOT AN ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTE FOR A BID BOND AND WOULD BE CAUSE FOR REJECTION OF BID. The 5% bid bond amount, if applicable, should be based upon the individual site with the highest bid amount that is $20,000.00 or more.
