Little River C-7 Basin Improvements Phase I B ESTIMATED COST: $4,260,076.80 LICENSE REQUIREMENT: General Building Contractor, General Engineering SCOPE OF WORK: The Little River (C-7) Basin Improvements Phase I Project Scope of Work for this contract consists of furnishing all supervision, labor, materials, tools, equipment and performing all operations required to construct the work in accordance with the contract documents. The County maintains approximately 168 miles of secondary canals which discharge into the South Florida Water Management District's primary canal system. Canals that have eroded have a reduced capacity less than the original design. Improvements include raising top of bank elevations (enhance storage), removal of bottom sediment, filter fabric placement, upgrading culverts (enhance conveyance) and improving outfalls. Future conditions in a 2060 scenario with sea level rise have been used as a design criteria. This project includes survey, soil testing, design, permitting, construction and construction management. The work shall include removal of any vegetation, excavation of the top soil, installation of woven geotextile filter fabric, installation of bedding/rip-rap for rebuilding of the bank in accordance with these specifications and/or as directed by the Engineer. The contractor will provide copies of all receipts and weight tickets (in TONS) from the disposal site. In addition, Contractor will provide photos of the loaded trucks prior to the transport of debris/materials corresponding to its weight ticket/receipt from the approved disposal site. Temporary on-site staging of materials within the canal right-of-way may be allowed so long as it does not create a hazardous condition and upon prior approval by the Engineer.
