The Contractor shall provide Firestopping Services to restore the hourly rating of fire resistive assemblies that have been breached due to penetration by electrical, plumbing, or mechanical items. Contractor to use firestopping to fill the gap between one fire-rated assembly and another, most commonly for the top of wall, bottom of wall, and wall to wall applications. Contractor to install fire-resistant materials within that open space and around the penetrants, to prevent flames and hot gases and smoke from passing through, mitigating the fire risk to DSH patients, staff, and facility. Firestop sealants should be an approved Underwriter Laboratories system (UL) or Engineering Judgement (EJ) to produce up to a four-hour rating, adheres to the full fire-rating that is required per building code, and be tested UL or EJ. Previous Structured Cabling companies installed speakers, speaker boxes, conduit, and cabling in each of our facilities. Walls, ceiling, and floors were penetrated but no firestop methods were applied to return the wall, ceiling, or floors back to its original fire rating. The term of any agreement resulting from this IFB is anticipated to be August 1, 2024, through July 31, 2026.
