This Notice of Proposed Procurement (NPP) is an advisory to the industry for the upcoming Two Stage Procurement (RFPQ & ITT) that BGIS will be issuing for a (General Contractor to provide construction services for the Lobby Expansion - Traffic Building at Emerson Port of Entry, Hwy 75. The intent of the project is to construct an addition to the traffic building at Emerson POE, involving renovating the interior near the main entrance to create a waiting room and a separate accessible washroom. Existing public washrooms will be demolished and relocated. The addition will comply with accessibility standards and include security measures and additional parking stalls. Concerns/Constraints: Public access at the main entrance of the building must be maintained throughout the project. The length of time the public washrooms are out of service should be kept to a minimum, and temporary portable toilets may be required. The trailer presently being used to process refugee claimants must be maintained in its present location. Sanitary sewer lines are located beneath the floor and access to these lines will require excavation from the exterior of the building. Roof Canopy Approximately half of the 2002 roof canopy would require removal, and a portion of the remaining canopy would require connection to the new addition.
