Reference Number 0000355234 The project consists of general maintenance for all existing street lighting equipment, including lamps, parking lot lamps, ballasts and PEC repairs and replacements, along with emergency work to repair or replace damaged equipment and new street light installations. The project consists of two elements (combined, the "Contract Work," or "Work"). The first element "Maintenance Work" is general maintenance for all existing street lighting equipment, including lamps, parking lot lamps, ballasts and PEC repairs and replacements. It includes visually inspecting and making necessary repairs to each pole and fixture, the connection between the service point and pole, pole and fixture and electrical connections. The bolted connections between foundation and pole and between pole and fixture must be examined for corrosion. The second element "Extra Work" may arise because of the need for emergency work to repair or replace damaged equipment and new street light installations. It is expected the successful bidder will provide continuous and emergency service 24-hours a day, 365 (or 366) days a year. The Contractor must obtain a Right-of-Way Permit from the City, at no cost, before work begins. Bonding Requirements - Bid Bond 10 % - Performance Bond 100 % - Labor and Materials Bond 100 % -- No bid will be accepted unless it is made on the bid form that is included as part of the Special Provisions for the project. Each bid shall be accompanied by cash or a cashier's check or a certified check, or a satisfactory bid bond issued by a California admitted surety insurer in the form as included in the bid documents, in any event in an amount not less than 10% of the total amount of the bid. Length of Agreement: The Contract is for a two (2) year period and can be extended annually with the written mutual agreement of both parties for three (3) additional, one (1) year terms for a total of up to five (5) years subject to future City Council funding appropriation. Each year of the Contract, the Contractor's costs will be adjusted based on the annual change of the Consumers Price Index (CPI) for the previous calendar year.
