Kelowna International Airport (YLW) is the largest municipally owned and operated airport in Canada. Phase 1 The City is seeking proposals for a Design-Build Contractor to build vehicle bridge at the Kelowna International Airport. The contractor will be responsible for both the design and construction of the new temporary bridge at Kelowna International Airport. The project will encompass several critical aspects, including the creation of concept, detailed, and 50%, 90%, and tender documents, ensuring all designs adhere to relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards. Phase 2 – to be negotiated with the successful proponent after completion of Phase 1 The contractor will obtain necessary permits, manage the tendering of subtrades or major procurement items, and oversee mobilization and demobilization. The Contractor will set up construction fencing and demarcate the site, manage quality and traffic, and implement measures for environmental protection from runoff, erosion, and other concerns. The Contractor will be responsible for all work part of this project. The project will involve removals such as clearing, excavation, and pavement work, installing drainage systems, and supplying and placing foundations, structural elements, walls, and associated electrical works. The contractor will supply the bridge and handle all construction related to the bridge installation and acceptance, while ensuring the protection of existing infrastructure and coordinating with third parties, including the owner’s contractors.
