Renovation of a mixed-use development in Southport, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: See Exhibit 1 for a detailed description of the project scope, requirements, and school addresses. The contractor is responsible for all items required to complete the scope of services, those items being included in the scope of services even if not listed below. It is expected that the contractors will visit the school and observe actual conditions prior to placing their bid. The contractor's workmanship shall be equal to or exceed the workmanship of reputable contractors performing similar work in the Wilmington Metropolitan Service Area. All work shall be performed per the following specifications and per all applicable codes. It is the intention of these specifications to have all areas identified by the Work Order List (attached) painted. All paint shall be applied at the manufacturer's recommended mil thickness per coat. In any case, the application shall be sufficiently heavy to achieve pleasingly uniform color and lucid effect. The Contractor shall begin the work upon receipt of the Purchase Order, and expeditiously, with adequate forces, complete the work within the specified calendar days. The required milestone dates, and completion date are included in Exhibit 1. The contractor shall coordinate all work with Operations personnel to ensure minimal disruption to school activities. Should the Contractor fail to substantially complete the Work on or before the date stipulated for Substantial Completion the Contractor agrees to then perform work after school hours during the week and on weekends to achieve completion of the work. Anticipated Project Start Date: Per issuance of Purchase Order - Anticipated July 12, 2024 Project to be completed prior to August 26, 2024. Scope of Work 1. Colors shall be selected and approved by the Brunswick County School District. 4 base colors (Provided) will be used unless otherwise specified and approved. All paint products to be Sherwin-Williams. All primer and paint will be purchased and paid for by Brunswick County Schools’ Designee. The contractor will provide the quantities needed. Contractor will plan for paint to be delivered to each school or Contractor will pick up paint at paint supplier. 2. All paints shall be delivered to the job mixed and shall not be thinned on the job. 3. Contractors shall furnish all labor, materials (except paint), tools and equipment necessary for a complete repainting job. 4. All paint shall be applied by brush or roller except where other applications are permitted in writing by BCS. 5. All previously painted areas shall be repainted. All articles affixed to buildings, such as hardware and light fixtures removed by painting contractor, shall be replaced after completing painting of that area. All electrical devices plates shall be removed stored carefully and replaced after paint has dried. 6. Miscellaneous pre-finished items such as grill, diffusers, etc. that does not blend with color schemes shall be painted as directed by Owner. All paints and materials shall be first line, brand name and approved by Owner before work is started. SEE THE ATTACHED PAINT SPECIFICATION LIST 7. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to provide approved storage for materials and equipment at a location approved by Owner. NO PAINT, MATERIALS OR EQUIPMENT SHALL BE STORED WITHIN ANY BRUNSWICK COUNTY SCHOOLS BUILDING. 8. All staging, scaffolds, ladders, etc. shall always be maintained in a manner to meet OSHA Safety Requirements and not be a hazard to Brunswick County School personnel. Adequate exits from all buildings shall be maintained in all areas to meet Fire Marshal’s regulations. 9. All non-painted areas, such as scrubs, floors, glass, etc. shall be protected. Upon completion of work, the contractor shall remove all splattering and remove all paint related rubbish from premises. The paint contractor shall be held responsible for any related damages.
