The Project includes the following Work: Crack sealing, pavement reclamation, pavement milling and overlay, tree removal, ditching, shoulder repairs and drainage improvements. The work shall consist of crack sealing, pavement milling, full depth pavement reclamation, tree clearing and other spot improvements within three separate and distinct portions of Town Hill Road. All work shall be constructed as outlined in this contract and as directed by the Municipal Representative. Western Section: The western section of Town Hill Road extends from the intersection with Appleton Ridge Road approximately 1,190'. Work to be bid within this section of roadway is comprised of: 1. Crack Sealing. Approximate Quantity = 2,000 LF 2. Back up pavement edges as directed by the Inspector with 2' of Type A Gravel sloped at 6% to create a 2' wide gravel shoulder. Approximate Quantity = 2,000 LF 3. Full depth patch approximately 120' east of the intersection with Appleton Ridge Road. Excavate and repair sunken area on the northern half of the roadway. Match existing pavement depth and number of lifts. Approximate Area = 150 SF 4. Full depth patch approximately 670' east of the intersection with Appleton Ridge Road. Excavate and repair at crack across full roadway width, 6' on either side. Match existing pavement depth and number of lifts. Approximate Area = 260 SF 5. Full depth patch approximately 690' east of the intersection with Appleton Ridge Road. Excavate and repair cracking for a distance of 25 LF from the northern edge of the roadway at an approximate width of 6'. Match existing pavement depth and number of lifts. Approximate Area = 150 SF 6. Full depth patch approximately 720' east of the intersection with Appleton Ridge Road. Excavate and repair across full roadway width for a length of 50 LF. Match existing pavement depth and number of lifts. Approximate Area = 1,000 SF 7. Full depth patch approximately 1,015' east of the intersection with Appleton Ridge Road. Excavate and repair at crack across full roadway width, 6' on either side. Match existing pavement depth and number of lifts. Approximate Area = 220 SF 8. Full depth patch approximately 1,070' east of the intersection with Appleton Ridge Road. Excavate and repair across full roadway width for a length of 30 LF. Remove protruding portion of rock to below gravel base grade at the western edge of the work area. Match existing pavement depth and number of lifts. Approximate Area = 600 SF 9. Full depth patch approximately 1,130' east of the intersection with Appleton Ridge Road. Excavate and repair at crack across full roadway width, 6' on either side. Match existing pavement depth and number of lifts. Approximate Area = 220 SF 10. Remove 2 trees and stumps approximately 1,120' east of the intersection with Appleton Ridge Road from within the southern ditch line. Approximate Quantity = 2 EA 11. Reshape existing ditch line or establish a functional ditch line along both sides of the roadway as directed by the inspector. Approximate Quantity = 2,380 LF Central Section: The central section of Town Hill Road extends from the eastern terminus of the western section, 1,190' from the intersection with Appleton Ridge Road for approximately 1,780' to the driveway of 123 Town Hill Road. Work to be bid within this section of roadway is comprised of: 1. Full depth asphalt reclamation. Install 2.5" binder course of 19.5 mm HMA and 1.5" surface course of 12.5 mm HMA. Approximate Quantity = 32,500 SF 2. Back up pavement edges as directed by the Inspector with 2' of Type A Gravel sloped at 6% to create a 2' wide gravel shoulder. Approximate Quantity = 2,700 LF 3. Remove 28 trees and stumps, and 8 additional stumps, within the proposed ditching areas. Approximate tree removal quantity = 28 EA. Approximate Stump Removal Quantity = 36 EA. 4. Reshape existing ditch line or establish a functional ditch line along both sides of the roadway as directed by the inspector. Approximate Quantity = 2,600 LF Eastern Section: The eastern section of Town Hill Road extends from the intersection with Route 131 approximately 1,220' to the driveway at 123 Town Hill Road. Work to be bid within this section of roadway is comprised of: 1. Pavement milling to a depth of 2", then overlay with a 2" lift of 12.5 mm HMA. Approximate Quantity = 20,000 SF 2. Back up pavement edges as directed by the Inspector with 2' of Type A Gravel sloped at 6% to create a 2' wide gravel shoulder. Approximate Quantity = 1,800 LF 3. Remove 9 trees and stumps within the proposed ditching areas. Approximate quantity = 9 EA. 4. Reshape existing ditch line or establish a functional ditch line along both sides of the roadway as directed by the inspector. Approximate Quantity = 900 LF 5. Replace the metal culvert crossing Town Hill Road approximately 75' west of Chaples Road. Replace with an 18" diameter CPEP culvert 50' in length. Minimum cover depth of 2'. Approximate Quantity = 50 LF of 18" CPEP pipe. 6. Install a new culvert approximately 240' west of the intersection with Route 131. New culvert to be 18" diameter CPEP for a length of 53 LF. Proposed invert depth of 3.5' with a minimum 2' cover depth. Approximate Quantity = 53 LF of 18" CPEP pipe. 7. Install a new Type F catch basin on the western side of the driveway access for 3 Town Hill Road. Connect to the existing catch basin (core and boot) in the northwest corner of the intersection with Route 131. Approximate Quantity = (1) Type F catch basin and 60 LF of 15" CPEP pipe.
