**As of July 31, 2024 project was awarded toK&D Construction, awarded amount is $241,302.90.** The City of Montrose owns a large-diameter culvert over Cedar Creek within the Cedar Cemetery on Miami Road. The crossing is a 9.5 foot diameter corrugated metal pipe structure with cast in place headwalls that has experienced structural pipe failure and displacement. As a result, the culvert crossing is currently out of service to vehicular use. The bridge provides pedestrian and equipment access to the northern potions of the cemetery. This project aims to replace the failed culvert while preserving the existing headwall structures at each end of the crossing. The project consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the Cedar Cemetery Culvert Replacement Project in accordance with the project plans and specifications. This includes, but is not limited to, the following key tasks: A. Perform removals to clear the site for construction including, but not limited to, asphalt pavement, the existing culvert, and rip-rap/rubble at each headwall. B. Replace the culvert crossing by reforming the annulus in each headwall, re-grouting, installing flowable fill pipe cradles at each headwall, and installing steel struts between the headwalls to help stabilize. C. Replace rip-rap at the upstream and downstream ends of the culvert. D. Reconstruct the roadway base and pave with hot mix asphalt. E. Implement stormwater management, traffic control, water management/stream bypass, site security, site restoration, and quality control testing as required to complete the work in accordance with the plans and specifications.
