Site work for a water / sewer project in Ishpeming, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Project includes the following Work: Replacement or improvements of approximately 26,000 LF of existing water mains ranging in size from 8" to 12". Replacement or improvements to service lines, gate valves, hydrants, and associated appurtenances for the distribution system within the City of Ishpeming Limits. Security upgrades at water tank site, including chain link fence, cameras, and lighting. Bids are requested for the following single prime Contracts: CITY OF ISHPEMING Water System Improvements, Contract 1 - Distribution System - 8 TH Addition, Wabash Area, Hard Ore Location, and Water Tank Document Notes: Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. Bidding documents also may be examined at the following Builder Exchanges: Delta County, Iron Mountain, Hurley (WI), Marquette, Grand Rapids, Traverse City, Appleton (WI), -Hill Dodge, and Construction Association of Michigan; and the office of the City of Ishpeming at 100 E. Division St., Ishpeming, MI 49849, on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Builder Exchanges are authorized to share the contract documents with other exchanges. Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office by paying a deposit of $200.00 refundable deposit for each set (refundable for the first set only), plus a separate $200.00 nonrefundable handling fee for each set of contract documents. Alternatively, bidding documents are available as portable document format [PDF] files for a non-refundable charge of $50.00. Make deposit checks for Bidding Documents payable to U.P. Engineers & Architects, Inc. A pre-bid conference for the Project will be held on June 12, 2024, at the Ishpeming City Hall at 10:00 AM. Attendance is encouraged but not mandatory. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The Bid Bond or certified check payable to Owner shall be in an amount no less than 5% of the maximum bid as a guarantee, that if the Bid is accepted, the Bidder will execute and file the Contract, Performance and Payment Bonds, and Insurance Certification, as required by the Contract Documents within (10) days after the Notice of Award. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS :For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents DOMESTIC PREFERENCE :This project is subject to the Build America, Buy America Act (BABAA) requirements under Title IX of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), Pub. L. 117-58, 70901-70953. Absent an approved waiver, all iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials used in this project must be produced in the United States. The following waivers apply to this Contract: De Minimis Minor Components GOVERNMENT FUNDING :Financing for this project is being provided by the State of Michigan, Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF). EGLE will, therefore, require approval by its representatives of all Contracts, attachments, and similar documents, all partial and final payments, and all change orders. Davis Bacon wage rates ARE required for this project. Bidder shall submit all questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents to Engineer in writing. 7.03 Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda delivered to all registered plan holders. Questions received less than seven days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered.
