Saving Project...

Renovation of a medical facility in Prince Rupert, British Columbia. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a six-story above grade medical facility.

The purpose of this project is to replace domestic water piping throughout Prince Rupert Regional Hospital (PRRH). PRRH was built in the early 1970's and is six storeys, including two basement levels for building operations, and four levels for patients and medical staff. All domestic water service piping, hot, cold, recirculated, and fittings, from the water entrance and throughout PRRH to each fixture are due for replacement based on the age of the facility and accelerated pipe degradation from water quality challenges. TIMELINE: Request for proposal from design consultant services, are underway. Proponents are asked to submit a fixed fee with a breakdown of each phase (see Section 3.3), for preparation of the following: 1. Investigation and Schematic Drawings 2. Design Development Drawings and Specifications 3. Tender Package and Support 4. Construction package and Contract Administration; and, 5. As-Built Drawings and relevant models. Further update in early fall 2024, upon award. *Northern Health is seeking fees for each phase listed above, however a contract will only be issued for Phase 1 and 2 above at this time.
