Furnishing of all materials and labor and the performance of all work required for the Trinity Hills Ditch Improvements Project The project provides for all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to construct improvements and maintenance repairs to the ditch that runs in the side and rear yards from Massie Avenue to Trinity Hills Lane. This includes constructing over 5000 SQFT of RediRock concrete walls; repointing and reconstructing sections of existing stone walls; excavating earth and rock to widen the existing channel, constructing improved channel bottom with concrete and channel lining; fencing; clearing and tree removal; erosion control and final grading and disturbed yard restoration. The access to the site will also be an important component for the contractor to determine. A bid bond, certified check or cashier's check, made payable to the City of St. Matthews, in an amount equal to 5% of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. No bid will be considered unless it is guaranteed in this manner. After execution of the contract and the acceptance of the Performance Bond by the Owner, such certified checks or bid bonds accompanying the proposal of the three (3) low bidders shall be returned. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids or waive any informality in any bid and to accept any proposal considered by the Owner to be on whole, the best. Bids may be held by the Owner for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the opening of the bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of the Bidders prior to awarding the contract. The Owner reserves the right to accept any bid, to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in bids received where such acceptance, rejection, or waiver is considered to be in the best interest of the Owner, and to reject any bid where evidence or information submitted by the Bidder does not satisfy the Owner that the Bidder is qualified to carry out the details of the Contract Documents.
