Demolition, site work and renovation of a military facility in Blackstone, Virginia. Completed plans call for the demolition of a military facility; for the renovation of a military facility; and military facility.

Question Deadline 08/14/2024 at 4:00 PM ET Questions by email to edward.s.newcomb.nfg@army.mil The general work description of the project can be generally described as: Demolition of all paneling and sheetrock, all branch circuits and wiring along with two panels in the main building, all existing refrigerators and freezers, all toilets, urinals, and sinks. All temporary walls, and all toilet partitions. Interior construction including the installation of R-19 insulation in all exterior walls, replacing all wall covering with T-1-11 plywood and installation of floor trim, trim out all windows and doors, construct a 4x4 closet. Prime and paint the interior of the building, make structural repairs to the room on the right-side rear of the building for an interior mechanical/ maintenance room. Electrical replacing all interior branch circuit and feeder wiring. Replace all the receptacles and switches, Replace all exterior lighting. Installation of commercial grade exhaust fans in each bathroom.Installation of new electrical panel, Installation of new exit egress combination fixtures by each exterior doorway Plumbing to include the replacement of all elongated toilets, urinals, flush valves, sinks, faucets, install new toilet and urinal partitions. Reposition all urinals in accordance with the IPC. Install new mirrors over the sink. DEMOLITION 1. Remove all paneling, sheetrock, tongue and groove, paneling and any other wall coverings down to the studs, excluding rooms 8, 9, 11, and 12 2. Remove paneling on all columns 3. Where wall coverings run up behind the ceiling wall molding cut the wall covering +/- 2" below ceiling height. Ceiling to remain 4. Furring strips behind paneling can remain. 5. Remove the dividing wall in room 7 6. Remove 4x4 temporary columns. 7. Remove all walk-in refrigerators in rooms 8,10,12 and associated appurtenances (line sets, wiring, thermostats, fuse boxes, etc.). 8. Remove all plywood sheathing (down to the studs) and door off refrigerator in room 10 9. Remove all interior doors 10. Remove all electrical panel boxes except panels in room 11. 11. Remove all receptacles along to include all conduit and wiring back to the panel. 12. Remove all egress lighting, emergency signs. 13. Remove all exposed telephone wiring. 14. Remove all toilets, urinals, sinks and drinking fountain. 15. Remove all toilet partitions. 16. Demo all galvanized water piping from water heater, water cooler, toilets, sinks and lavatories back to room 6. 17. Remove existing water heater. 18. Demo mop sink faucets. Sink to remain. 19. Demo all the waste pipes above the floor with a ten-foot allowance in the crawl space to tie into solid piping II. INTERIOR CONSTRUCTION 1. Remove / Replace the front storeroom doors and frames. New material shall match existing. 2. Replace all exterior door hardware locks must be compatible with Best lock 7- pin, K-Cores confirm equipment with DPW. 3. Patch all holes left from demo ensure fire caulking where necessary 4. Repair furred-out walls; add where needed to accommodate smooth transition of new T-1-11. 5. Install R-19 insulation in all exterior walls. 6. Install R-13 (unfaced) insulation in all interior walls. 7. Replace all wall coverings with T-1-11 excluding rooms 8, 9, 11, and 12. 8. Install floor, ceiling, window, and door trim with square stock 1 x 4 pine or PVC. 9. Install prefabricated (wood) corner molding at all inside corners. 10. Replace all interior doors with new solid wood doors and hardware, install quickset passage lock on interior doors, with all-purpose entry lock (attached with specs) for the bathroom doors. 11. Frame in any voids from refrigerator demo. Make repairs to subfloors under the refrigerators as required (provide unit pricing, SF, based on 50 square feet). 12. Patch walls in room 8. 13. Prime and paint all interior walls, and ceilings (eggshell). Paint trim (morning fog). 14. Replace all damaged ceiling tiles to match existing (or approved equal if it can't be matched). 15. Replace damaged floor tile. Match existing. 16. Install mirrors, toilet paper holders, and paper towel dispensers. 17. Strip all tile floors at completion of the project. 18. Apply a minimum of three (3) coats of new wax on all tile floors A Commonwealth of Virginia Standard Performance Bond (DGS-30-084, form CO-10) and a Commonwealth of Virginia Standard Labor and Material Payment Bond (DGS-30-088, form CO-10.1) WILL be required regardless of the bid amount. A Bid Bond is required. The contractor, shall however, provide certificate of builder's risk insurance equal to the value of the contract plus any change orders. Building Permits: No building permit required. Project is not required to be submitted to DEB. All other permits are the responsibility of the Contractor. Time for Completion is 90 calendar days to Substantial completion. Final Completion shall be within 30 days after the date of Substantial completion.
