Clemson University is seeking a contractor to furnish and install three overhead volleyball net systems at Fike Recreation Center, 110 Heisman St., Clemson, SC 29634, as described in section III. Scope of Work/Specification below. Alternates or approved equals are allowed. Products are to meet specifications and requirements as detailed in Section III Scope of Work/Specifications. If an alternate is being offered; it shall be equal or an approved equal as determined by Clemson University. Any reference to brand names, trade names, model numbers or other descriptions particular to specific brand products is made to establish a required level of quality and functional capabilities; it is not intended to exclude other products of that level. Comparable products of other manufacturers will be considered if proof of comparability is contained in the bid submission. Installation must be completed by November 15, 2024. The system must have an adjustable net system capable of meeting the requirements for men's height, women's height, middle school height, junior high height, and elementary height. The system must include a judge's stand that can be directly attached to the frame. The system must include a method for net tensioning. The net attachment points must span 36 feet. The folding side braces must be adjustable and self-locking in the lower position. The system must be raised and lowered by a certified cable with a minimum breaking strength of 7,000 lbs. The system must include safety straps. There must be an electric winch that controls the raising and lowering of the system. The system must include a nylon cord competition-style net. This net must include a top hem with a minimum breaking strength of 2000 lbs. The system must have a method of stabilization from contact during competition. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, hardware, scaffolding, lifts etc., needed to complete the installation, INCLUDING floor protection. 2. The contractor is expected to handle all work EXCEPT mounting key switches and electrical wiring and connections. 3. The contractor should include any required structural framing to accommodate existing equipment within the facility, including but not limited to lights, ductwork, sprinkler systems, and sound equipment. The contractor should allow access to equipment for electrical connections to be made by a separate contractor during installation. 4. The contractor's work performance shall comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations. The contractor shall give required notices, shall procure necessary governmental licenses and inspections, and shall pay, without burden to Clemson University, all fees in connection therewith unless specifically provided otherwise. In the event of a violation, the Successful Offeror shall pay all fines and penalties, including attorney's fees and other defense costs and expenses in connection therewith. 5. The contractor shall maintain Clemson University's facility neat and orderly during installation. Clemson University's facilities shall be maintained in broom-clean condition daily after work. 6. The contractor is expected to be able to perform the work with minimal supervision and should not rely on Clemson University to augment its resources 7. The Draper OVS (Overhead Volleyball System) is the basis for design. The supplied system must be an overhead-mounted volleyball system with a similar design to the basis.
