Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Fryeburg, Maine. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a road / highway; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for replacement of approximately 1,040 linear feet of concrete sidewalk on Oxford Street in Fryeburg, Maine. The work area begins near the Norway Savings Bank entrance/exit and ends at Warren Street. The new concrete sidewalk shall be a 5-foot width. The project will also include removal and replacement of approximately 449 linear feet of paved shoulder totaling 1,840 square feet. (207) 443-1508 or rprue@pte-maine.com Work Included All work shall conform to the Maine Department of Transportation Specification Section 608- Sidewalks, as applicable to concrete sidewalks. The proposed work shall include the following items: 1. Construction signage and traffic control. 2. Remove existing concrete sidewalk. 3. Grade existing aggregate gravel base prior to placing concrete. 4. Install 4" thick concrete sidewalk with welded steel wire fabric reinforcing. 5. Portland cement concrete shall be Class A (4,000 psi concrete). 6. Tooled joints and broom finish. 7. All new Portland cement concrete surfaces shall have protective coating applied in accordance with MaineDOT Specification Section 515. 8. Install a detectable warning field at the crosswalk near Warren Street. 9. Remove existing paved shoulder as noted on the plans. 10. Fine grade the existing gravel base in the paved shoulder area, and install 2" hot mix asphalt base pavement (12.5 mm) and 1 1/4 " hot mix asphalt surface pavement (9.5 mm). 11. Install loam, seed, and mulch to blend into the existing lawns. 3. Method of Measurement and Payment Work described under this section will be paid as lump sum for the construction of the Oxford Street Sidewalk Reconstruction project. Basis of Payment The Town of Fryeburg will make monthly payments based on the percentage of work completed, less 5% retainage. Final payment will be made upon acceptance of the completed work. The undersigned agrees, if this bid is accepted, to complete the work by November 1, 2024. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any technical or legal deficiencies, and to accept any bid which is deemed to be in the best interest of the Owner.
