Site work and new construction of a pre-engineered storage facility in West Union, Iowa. Completed plans call for the construction of a 20,000-square-foot pre-engineered storage facility; and for site work for a pre-engineered storage facility.

The Project will consist of a new storage building adjacent to the Fayette County Maintenance Facility located at 221 South Industrial Parkway. The storage building is currently planned to be a 20,000sf pre engineered metal building on shallow concrete foundations with a reinforced concrete floor slab over insulation. The building will consist of approximately 10- 60ft deep bays of Vehicle Storage, Sign Room, Bridge Room, and Open Bay Storage. The Open Bay Storage will occupy approximately 1,5000sf and is covered by a continuation of the building's superstructure and roof. Water and sewer services will be extended to the building. The Work also includes fire protection system, plumbing, HVAC, communication system, and electrical work. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8 and as specified by the Fayette County Board of Supervisors. The bid security shall be 10% of the total amount of the bid. Work on the improvement shall commence on or before the date specified in the written "Notice to Proceed" and shall be fully completed and ready for acceptance by July 1, 2025. Liquidated damages in the amount of $500 per calendar day will be assessed for each day that the work shall remain uncompleted after July 1, 2025, with due allowance for extension of contract period due to conditions beyond the control of the Contractor, as approved by the Fayette County Engineer. The Fayette County Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
