Site work and paving for a road / highway in Seaford, Delaware. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
A bid bond must accompany each bid. The bid bond shall be equal to five percent of the total street improvements bid. The successful bidder must present the City Manager with a performance bond or bonds in an amount equal to the proposed schedule of work agreed to by the contract. The Mayor and Council reserve the right to reject any and all bids. The Contractor awarded the bid will commence the work required by the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS after the NOTICE TO PROCEED and will complete the work in ninety-nine (99) calendar days from the projected date or award or July 24, 2024, unless the period for execution is extended in writing by the City Manager. No work will take place on Sundays. The Contractor will be charged liquidated damages in the amount of $100 per day if the WORK extends past the ninety-nine (99) calendar days or after the agreed upon extension date. Every effort will be made by the city to maximize the efficiency of operations with the paving contractor during this period.
