The contractor will be responsible for applying a protective sealcoat to the existing pavement surface and restriping for enhanced visibility and safety. Sealcoating: o The contractor shall apply two coats of fortified heavy duty 100% coal tar emulsion sealer to the designated areas. o The sealcoat shall be applied in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, ensuring an even and consistent coverage. o Contractor will add 4% Silica Sand and 2% Tarmax Rubber Admixture to produce a non-slip surface with improved durability. 2. Striping: o All existing pavement markings, including centerlines, edge lines, crosswalks, stop bars, and symbols, shall be properly removed using environmentally friendly methods. o The contractor shall restripe all designated areas using high-quality and highly visible traffic paint, which meets ASTM D7116-19 standards. o All pavement markings shall adhere to the applicable standards and regulations set forth by the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). o The contractor shall ensure the accurate placement and width of all pavement markings for optimal visibility and safety. Service Requirements: The contractor shall provide all necessary labor, equipment, materials, and supplies required to complete the sealcoating and striping work. Prior to starting the project, the contractor shall submit a detailed project plan, including the proposed schedule, and material information, for approval by the County. The contractor shall adhere to all safety standards and regulations during the project, ensuring the well-being of their employees, the general public, and maintaining traffic flow as much as possible. The contractor shall conduct the work during appropriate weather conditions, ensuring that the pavement surface is clean, dry, and free from debris before applying the sealcoat and striping. All work shall be done at agreed upon times to minimize disruption to the public. The contractor shall provide a warranty for the completed sealcoating and striping work for a period of one year from the project's completion date.
