Renovation of an educational facility in New York, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Genesys Engineering, P.C. (Genesys), as agent for the Dormitory Authority State of New York (DASNY), is seeking qualifications information from firms that would like to participate in a future Bid Solicitation, as the Prime Contractor, for the construction of a project that involves a Chiller Plant Upgrade at Queensborough Community College. All interested contractors shall submit a Statement of Qualification and NYS Vendor Responsibility Questionnaire ("VRQ"). Information submitted will be evaluated in order to develop a list of pre-Qualified Bidders for the subject Energy Project that Genesys intends to solicit construction bids for in the third quarter of 2024. A short list of three (3) to five (5) firms will be developed. This short list of Pre-Qualified Bidders will receive the Bid Solicitation. For this project, the successful low bidder, as a condition of being awarded the construction contract, must submit and have approved a project specific Utilization Plan for MBE, WBE and SDVOB Subcontractors in accordance with the goals that will be included in the Bid Documents and must execute a Project Labor Agreement (PLA) that will be included in the Bid Documents. The list of Pre-Qualified Bidders will be selected by Genesys and will be approved by DASNY. The minimum experience level required is as follows: Experience serving as a Prime Contractor on DASNY construction projects; Experience serving as a Prime Contractor for a minimum of five (5) multi-discipline projects that include General Construction, Electrical, HVAC, Piping, Instrumentation; Experience serving as Prime Contractor for at least (3) project in excess of $15 million; Similar, recent experience, with Chiller Plant Upgrade Projects; and Civil works Experience in working in and around operating facilities; and Ability to obtain Payment and Performance Bonds for the project. General Project Description: The anticipated scope of work for the project includes the following: Contract term: Eighteen (18) Months Minority Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 18% Women Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 12% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Contracting Goal: 6% Two (2) new variable speed drive secondary chiller water pumps in the Administration Building; One (1) new variable speed drive secondary chilled water pump, one (1) new VFD for existing chilled water pump, and 8-inch site chilled water (CHW) connection in the Student Union; Two (2) new variable speed drive secondary chilled water pumps in the Humanities Building; Two (2) new variable speed drive secondary chilled water pumps and 8-inch site CHW connection in the Library; Two (2) new variable speed drive secondary chilled water pumps in the Science Building; Two (2) 4-inch site CHW connection in the gymnasium; New 2-way automatic direct digital control (DDC) valves at the cooling coils of each of the air handling units in all of the mentioned buildings and in the Medical Arts, Gymnasium and Technologies Buildings; Asbestos Abatement Integrate New BMS into existing systems Underground piping and all aspects of civil work In addition to the above, all projects include ancillary trade work, including general construction, HVAC, electrical, etc. The estimated construction cost range is $8 to $13 Million.
