General work description: This project consists of installing edge lines, centerlines, delineators, reflectors, object markers, and improved signs along the entirety of Old Dobbins Road and on La Porte Road from Barton Hill Road to the Plumas County line Proposal forms for the work are herein included. This work consists of installing edge lines, centerlines, delineators, reflectors, and object markers along: Schedule A - All of Old Dobbins Road Schedule B - La Porte Road from Barton Hill Road to the Plumas County Line Other such items or details not mentioned above that are required by the standard specifications or these special provisions shall be performed, placed, constructed or installed. The estimated cost of the project is $196,282. Complete the work within 30 working days. No pre-bid meeting will be scheduled for this project. Bond Notes: Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified cashier's check, or bid bond, in the amount of 10 percent of the total bid price, payable to Yuba County Department of Public Works, as a guarantee that the bidder, if its bid is accepted, will promptly execute the Agreement. The bidder shall guarantee the total bid price for a period of 60 days from the date of the bid opening. The performance bond shall be in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price, and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and ensure against faulty or improper materials and workmanship. The payment bond shall be 100% of the Contract Price, and shall guarantee payment in full of all claims for labor and materials. Owner Rights: The County reserves the right after opening the bids to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in a bid or bid submittal, and to award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, as it may best serve the interests of the County. Pursuant to Section 1773 of the Labor Code, the general prevailing wage rates in the county, or counties, in which the work is to be done have been determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. These wages are set forth in the General Prevailing Wage Rates for this project, available at the County of Yuba Department of Public Works, 915 8th Street, Suite 125, Marysville, California, 95901 and also available from the California Department of Industrial Relations' Internet web site at http://www.dir.ca.gov. The contractor and any of its subcontractors shall pay not less than said specified wage rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the Work. A contractor or subcontractor shall not be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal, subject to the requirements of Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code, or engage in the performance of any contract for public work, as defined in this chapter, unless currently registered and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5. It is not a violation of this section for an unregistered contractor to submit a bid that is authorized by Section 7029.1 of the Business and Professions Code or by Section 10164 or 20103.5 of the Public Contract Code, provided the contractor is registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5 at the time the contract is awarded.
