In general, the work on this project consists of the removal of the existing manual trash basket system and the furnishing and installation of a new mechanical grinder system and emergency standby pumping system in the existing Woodcrest East Pump Station for Cherry Hill Township in Camden County, New Jersey, complete as specified within these Contract Documents and shown on Drawings, appended to these Specifications. In addition to installing the new emergency standby bypass pumping system, the work will also include the decommissioning, removal, and transportation of an existing backup generator on the site to the Cherry Hill Department of Public Works facility. The bypass pumping system shall connect to the existing bypass piping connections. The bypass pump will be installed on the existing concrete pad currently supporting the generator, as possible. The Township Council reserves the right to reject all proposals pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-13.2 (Rejection of Bids) and to waive such minor informalities as may be permitted by law. CONTRACT DESCRIPTION A. Work of the Project includes alteration of a wastewater conveyance pump station, including the implementation of a mechanical grinder and emergency standby bypass pumping system. B. Perform Work of Contract under Stipulated Sum Contract with Owner according to Conditions of Contract. 1.4 WORK BY OWNER OR OTHERS A. Owner will award a contract for supply and installation of an emergency bypass pump and mechanical grinder If Owner-awarded contracts interfere with each other due to Work being performed at the same time or at the same Site, Owner will determine the sequence of Work under all contracts according to WORK SEQUENCE and CONTRACTOR'S USE OF SITE AND PREMISES Articles in this Section. C. Coordinate Work with utilities of Owner and public or private agencies. D. Work under this Contract will include: 1. Electrical Work: Owner intends to award a separate contract for electrical Work associated with this Contract. The proposed electrical contract documents are available for inspection at Owner's office. 2. Existing Building Demolition: Owner has contracted for demolition of existing structure on Site and removal of its foundations. Site will be backfilled at removed foundations and filled to existing grade elevation. 3. Work as indicated on Drawings. E. Remove and deliver to Owner the following items as indicated on Drawings: 1. Emergency backup generator. 2. Manual Bar Screen.
