Questions regarding the project can be forwarded in writing to the City of Downey's Project Manager, Mr. Fabian Aoun, P.E., at faoun@downeyca.org on or prior to Monday, July 1, 2024 at 5 p.m. The City of Downey is accepting proposals from qualified professional engineering consultants to provide pavement design services for Capital Improvement Project (CIP) No. 24-03 Alley Beautification Project for the alley segments noted in Table 1 of this RFP. The Consultant shall evaluate the existing pavement condition within the project scope, data, and propose to the City the most cost-effective method to improve the existing alley pavement conditions that meets the funding constraints and poses the least impact to adjacent residents and businesses. The Consultant is also encouraged to recommend additional design alternatives for City's consideration based on the aforementioned criteria. It is the responsibility of the proposer to ensure that any proposals submitted have sufficient time to be received by the City prior to this proposal due date and time. Proposals received after the specified date and time will not be considered. The City reserves the right to withdraw the RFP at any time without prior notice. The City reserves the right to reject any and all proposals without indicating any reasons for such rejection. Furthermore, the City makes no representations that the project will be awarded to any respondent to the RFP. The total designated budget for the Alley Beautification Project consisting of engineering design, PS&E, construction and project management is $4,027,000.
