Site work and paving for a civil project in Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; and water / sewer project.
The City of Des Moines Sewer Maintenance Division of the Department of Public Works is soliciting sealed bids from qualified companies to provide Log Jam Removal at the SW 1st Street Pedestrian Bridge per the terms, conditions, and specifications of the Request for Bid. 1 Debris Removal 1.1 Remove all trees and debris located in the Raccoon River Confluence at the SW 1st Street Bridge. 1.2 Debris to be removed once the Racoon River has receded to a safe level. a. The Contractor is responsible to determine the safety level of the work site. b. The Contractor must consider the ability to drive on the sandbar and safely access the work site. 1.3 The Contractor is responsible to build a safe causeway to access the log jam. 1.4 The City will work with the Parks and Recreation Department to shut down the surrounding pedestrian trail and bridge. 1.5 The Contractor is responsible for vehicle traffic control around the work site. 1.6 Upon completion of the project, the Contractor is responsible for removing the causeway. 2 Debris Transportation 2.1 The Contractor must haul all debris to the Harriet Street Waste Site, which is available at no cost to the Contractor. 2.2 Debris must be neatly stacked at the Harriet Street Waste Site so City staff can dispose of debris accordingly.
