Summary: The purpose of the Invitation for Bids (IFB) it to solicit bids to establish a contract through competitive seal bids for the addition and termination of power cables from the on-site substation to two existing STS crane service pits on the dock. In addition two (2) new cable anchors will need to be installed within the existing crane service pits. (120) Calendar days. Description of Procurement Request: The Port of Virginia (POV) is replacing and adding new ship-to-shore cranes at Virginia International Gateway (VIG) Terminal in Portsmouth, VA. To prepare for the future work, which will ultimately result in two additional STS cranes at the terminal, POV requires the installation of two (2) new cable anchors within existing crane service pits #11 and #12 (one in each pit) and routing of electrical cable through existing conduit from each crane pit to the main terminal switchgear as shown in the accompanying construction drawings. The existing crane pits are located along the southern portion of the terminal in an active operating area within the restricted and secured perimeter of the terminal. The Contractor shall take all necessary precautions to coordinate work with terminal operations and other ongoing contracts within or adjacent to the project area. Contractor will provide and install all cable, terminations, and other materials per the attached scope of work. Contractor will mount the cable horn anchors in the pits. The cable horn anchors will be provided by the port.
