Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the Township of Evesham in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) but in no case in excess of $20,000.00 of the amount bid. Any such bid bond shall be without endorsement or conditions. Bid shall also be accompanied by a certificate letter from a surety company stating that it will provide the bidder with the completion bond. The award of the contract shall be made subject to the necessary moneys to do the work being provided by the Township of Evesham in a lawful manner. The contract to be executed by the successful bidder will provide that it shall not become effective until the necessary moneys to do the work have been provided by the Township of Evesham in a lawful manner. The award shall further be subjected to the securing of necessary State, Federal or Local permits governing the work. General The project consists of roadway improvements such as resurfacing and concrete curb and sidewalk improvements of Wescott Road (From Marlton Parkway to Willow Bend Road) in the Township of Evesham, Burlington County, New Jersey. General The project consists of roadway improvements such as resurfacing and concrete curb and sidewalk improvements of Wescott Road (From Marlton Parkway to Willow Bend Road) in the Township of Evesham, Burlington County, New Jersey. Description Base Bid work of this project generally consists of, but is not limited to the following: 1. Milling of existing HMA overlay at 2" depth and resurfacing with HMA 9.5M64 Surface Course, 2" thick. 2. Reset manholes, inlets, and vent/valve boxes if and where directed by the engineer/inspector. 3. Replacing existing curb inlet head pieces with ECO type "N" head pieces as indicated on the plans and replacing existing grates with bicycle safe grates. 4. Removal and replacement of Concrete Sidewalk, 4" Thick, Concrete Driveway, 6" Thick, and 9" x 18" Concrete Vertical Curb as indicated and as directed. 5. Contractor shall remove all debris from existing inlet structures and repair all damaged or unsound wall portions and/or ladder rungs. If leaks exist, install block/inlet brick as necessary, and parge inlet as specified. 6. Contractor shall replace all roof drains from the curb/gutter line to the right-of-way line disturbed during construction, or as directed by the Engineer. Prior to replacing the roof drain, the location and installation details must be approved by the Engineer and Township. Separate payment will not be made for the replacement of any roof drain and the preparation of the detail but shall be included in the various items in the proposal. 7. Installation of pavement markings as detailed in the plans and specifications. 8. Any existing house number painted along the curb which is removed as a result of the construction shall be repainted with stencils using white, reflective paint. Separate payment for painting will not be made; however, all costs associated shall be included in the cost of the various items in the proposal. 9. All related incidental work not paid for under specific pay items, including sawcutting, clearing site, sediment, and erosion control, resetting of landscape areas, repair of irrigation, and cleaning and restoration are not paid separately but are to be included in the various items in the proposal. 10. Topsoil, fertilizer, and seed will be placed on all disturbed grass areas. Areas affected by the proposed work must be regarded. Topsoil shall conform to the standards of section 917, herein, or better. 11. Tree and stump removal as indicated on the plans. Tree and stump removal extents shall be field verified in advance of scheduled removal to affirm with engineer/owner. 12. Tree trimming if necessary to operate required machinery. Separate payment for tree trimming will not be made, however all costs associated shall be included with the cost in the various items of the proposal. 13. Any existing mailboxes, basketball nets, signs, etc. conflict with proposed construction and require resetting for the installation of a proposed item, all costs for the resetting of the various obstructions shall be included with the cost in the various items of the proposal. 14. The item "Maintenance and Protection of Traffic" includes all costs associated with detour, construction signs, cones, breakaway barriers and all else necessary to safely maintain traffic within and around the work area Alternate Bid No. 1 generally consists of the following: 1. Installation of 12" x 13" Concrete Sloping Curb indicated and as directed on the plans. 2. Installation of Cobblestone Paving as indicated and as directed on the plans. 3. Installation of traffic striping as detailed in the plans and specifications.
