The De Soto #73 School District is seeking competitive proposals for construction at 3775 Athena School Road. Price should include all materials, labor, and permits (if applicable) required to complete the requested work. All work is to be completed by August 20th. If work is not completed by this date, the contractor will be fined $100.00 a day every day beyond August 20th. Bidders should respond to this bid by submitting the total cost of adding a new room within the classroom 402, in the corner that is opposite the current door, with a small hallway and another door to the classroom. Bidders should plan for the doors to both open to the outside (hinges on left, pull to open from the outside) and not to collide when both are open. Steel lintel will need to be installed, as well as a total of 2 doors and entrance ways that will match the existing doorways of nearby classrooms. In the quote, prospective bidders will include patch work for drywall, prefinished doors and frames, framing two walls with appropriate metal studs, 1/2 " finished grade plywood, and 5/8 " drywall exterior, reworking the drop ceiling as needed, finished painting, electrical work as needed, and repairing the floor at any points that are necessary due to the construction. The ultimate goal is to have a room measuring roughly 68"x 68" to the height of the ceiling, with a new hallway inside room 402, so that inside the current room 402 there is a hallway with a door to the classroom and a separate door to the calm down/cool down room.
