Pierce County (hereafter known as 'the County') is seeking proposals from entities interested in a land lease and rehabilitation and/or new construction of hangars at Tacoma Narrows Airport and/or Pierce County Airport -Thun Field. The County's ability to accommodate locally based aircraft is largely dependent upon providing suitable and economical hangar storage. The County would like to increase the number of available hangars at the two airports. Pierce County Airport - Thun Field (PLU) is a public use FAA Regional General Aviation (GA) airport serving piston and turbine general aviation aircraft. The Airport Reference Code is B-II. The critical aircraft is the Cessna Conquest (Cessna 441). The Tacoma Narrows Airport (TIW) is a public use FAA Regional General Aviation (GA) airport serving its airport users, community, surrounding region, and the air transportation system. The Airport Reference Code is C-II. The critical aircraft is the Bombardier Challenger 300 (CL 30). Below is a list of facilities and sites available for rehabilitation or new construction. Attachments A and B provide approximate locations of the sites available for development. This Request for Proposals (RFP) is for a land lease and hangar development at both Pierce County Airports. The goal is to increase the inventory of County-provided hangars, various business tenants, and hangar condominium associations.
