Reference Number 0000356096 The project would replace the existing four-way stop controlled intersection with a double-lane roundabout. The roundabout would have an approximately 200-foot diameter with a truck apron. The circulatory path surrounding the center of the roundabout would have concrete pavement with contrasted surface treatment for the truck apron, along with minor raised slopes to accommodate oversized, large load trucks. The roadway would have concrete splitter islands separating the direction of travel within the roundabout approaches and departures. The roundabout would include sidewalks, curbs, bike ramps for pedestrian traffic, lighting, flashing beacons, landscaping or hardscaping, architectural features within the central island, and utility relocations. Objective: Biddable plans, specifications, and estimate for construction of a roundabout at the intersection of 7th Std Road and Route-43 (SR-43). The anticipated limits of improvements would extend half a mile (1/2-mile) out on all approaches to the roundabout. Acquisition of right-of-way is required for construction of the project. The footprint of the project with anticipated right-of-way takes (partial and full takes) shall be accomplished by mid-December of 2024.
