This is to perform construction to fully rehabilitate the Cos Cob Pump Station that will not only rehabilitate the existing sewer pump station to provide 25-30 years of future service life for the equipment, but it will improve the resiliency of damage/loss of critical infrastructure during flooding. This project would raise our electrical systems and instrumentation/controls to be above the FEMA flood elevations. The existing station is in a flood prone location. The project includes a new submersible wet well, new pumps, demo of the existing building and constructing new building to house the electrical systems, controls and instrumentation above the FEMA flood zones. The project will address PCBs in the existing building's paint systems. Finally, the project will include replacement of the existing greenhouse structure currently used by the Highway Division for storage of materials, to be a Maintenance Storage Building used by both Highway Division and Sewer Division to store items in an orderly fashion, protected from the weather and not be a visual eyesore to the community. These funds cover the construction and related engineering / inspection for the work described. The project is include in the city's 2025-2039 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
