The Union County Board of Education solicits proposals from Panduit-certified low-voltage wiring contractors for turn-key low-voltage wiring of the new Union County Elementary School in Union County, Blairsville, Georgia UCES is a single-story elementary school with 68 classrooms. There are three (3) data closets. The MDF is located in the middle section of the building and will need 12 strands of single-mode fiber connecting it with each of the two (2) IDFs. Also, from the MDF, there will be a 6-strand single-mode fiber to a guard shack at the entrance to the campus, and four (4) single-mode fibers will run to external cameras. (terminate all strands). As stated below, the awarded provider is expected to provide all materials and labor needed to complete this project. Classroom, typical (68 classrooms) Each of the 68 classrooms will have four (4) Cat6 drops terminated above the drop ceiling and two (2) in a wall outlet. Offices, typical (18 offices) The offices will have four (4) Cat6 drops in the walls and one (1) above the ceiling. Station Drops The standard connector for all data outlet connections is a Category 6 RJ45 jack (keystone style). Category 6 balanced twisted-pair horizontal and backbone cables, whose length does not exceed 90m (295 ft) for basic link, and 100m (328 ft) for the channel shall be 100 percent tested according to ANSI/TIA/EIA-568-B.1. The estimated number of network drops is 750, which may change as the project progresses. Station Drop Installation Expectations o Install pathway, cable hangers, j-hooks, etc. in the hallway, AND classroom, AND MUST be supported every five (5) feet. o Install pathway through firewalls and into classrooms, fire caulk all firewall/classroom penetrations. o Vendor must provide all materials needed to complete the project for a one-time final payout billed after the completion of the scope of this RFP. The preliminary estimated cost is expected to be approximately $125,000. The Union County Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive technicalities.
