Renovation of an educational facility in Woodbridge, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

WO-WH Building Roof Replacement Sealed bids are invited for the construction of Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC), Building WO-WH - Roof Replacement at Woodbridge, VA. The project is generally described as a 3,460 square foot metal panel roof system replacement. Commonwealth of Virginia Standard Bid Bond (Form CO-10.2) is not required. Procedures for submitting a bid, claiming an error, withdrawal of bids and other pertinent information are contained in the Instructions to Bidders, which is part of the Invitation for Bids. Withdrawal due to error in bid shall be permitted in accord with Section 9 of the Instructions to Bidders and 2.2-4330, Code of Virginia. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Work under this contract is for roof replacement at the WO-WH building (also known as the HVAC Lab Building) in Woodbridge, VA for Northern Virginia Community College and the Virginia Community College System. The work is to remove existing metal panel roof system, gutters and downspouts and install new Architectural standing seam metal roof panel system over high temperature underlayment and plywood substrate onto the existing building structure and additional new rafter system secured to existing structure with new rafter hangars. PART 2 SCOPE OF WORK The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 2.01 GENERAL A. Provide all access equipment, safety supervision, engineering, temporary support, etc., as necessary to access all roofing areas hands-on to execute the work as designated in the Drawings, and as required to facilitate the performance and inspection of the work described herein. B. The building is not equipped with permanent roof anchors. Ladder scaffolding systems may be used and would require proper anchoring to the walls and safe access for the workers and the Consultant. Scaffolding systems shall be designed and set per all Prince William County and OSHA requirements, including Site Safety. C. Construct and maintain a construction barrier below the work area at all times. Construct overhead protection at all building entrances and exits. Provide temporary barriers at operable windows and window air conditioners that will be impacted by the work or obtain written approval from the Owner and governing jurisdictions to close operable windows during the work. Coordinate with the County to detour or otherwise protect public sidewalks and parking spaces impacted by the project. D. Do not block air conditioner units in a manner that could cause units to malfunction. Protect air conditions and prevent any loads being placed on the units. Evaluate the attachment of each unit and provide temporary supports as required. E. Phase the work and provide temporary protection as necessary to keep the building watertight and fully occupied at all times. Water shall not be permitted to penetrate walls or the interior of the building due to construction conditions. F. Complete minor repairs to address unanticipated conditions as found to be necessary and as directed by the Consultant in writing. Payment for this work shall be from a Contingency Allowance based on time and materials or quoted fixed price, as agreed to prior to work proceeding. Question Deadline 07/19/2024
