The intent of the Invitation for Bid is to obtain pricing for minor repair/replacement and new installation of chain link/ornamental fencing to be performed throughout the City of Bridgeport, for TWO (2) years with the possibility of a ONE (1) year extension if mutually agreeable to both parties. The City shall then identify the THREE (3) lowest, responsive, responsible bidders to enter into a fixed unit price contract. Should the amount of work/number of locations, exceed the low bidders' capacity to preform and complete within the time perimeters set by the City during the course of the contract, one or more of the impacted projects will be offered to the second (at their submitted fixed unit bid pricing) of the three lowest bidders and so on. This contract is subject to utilization goals and requirements for participation of certified Minority Business Enterprises (MBE). The utilization requirement for certified African American Owned Business Enterprises is 6% of the total contract sum. The overall utilization goal for Minority-Owned Business Enterprises is 15% and for Women-Owned Business Enterprises is 15%. The City reserves the right to authenticate such certification. The Contractor is prohibited from assigning, transferring, conveying, subletting, or otherwise disposing of this agreement or its rights, title or interest therein or its power to be executed in such agreement to any other person, company or corporation without the prior consent and approval in writing by the City.
