Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Charlottesville, Virginia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 3,000-square-foot playground / park / athletic field; for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
Sealed proposals are invited from qualified contractors for the design and construction of the Biscuit Run Park Maintenance Building - Design Build project located at 2020 Scottsville Road, Albemarle County, Charlottesville, VA 22902. The project generally consists of a gravel entry road, Maintenance Building and Yard. This gravel entrance road will be the start of the design/build project. The 20-foot-wide gravel access road will be approximately 100 yards long leading north to the Maintenance Building fenced yard and facility. The proposed Maintenance Building will serve two (2) County work teams with each having their own personnel entrance, Work Bay with overhead door, Office, Break Room, and Toilet. The Teams will share a Mechanical Room and a Covered Outdoor Area, and Break Rooms connected by an interior door. The Maintenance Building will be approximately 3,000 square feet of covered space. The 8-foothigh fenced yard around the Maintenance Building will be gravel, with sixteen parking spaces along one side and an entrance gate. The Maintenance Building Yard will be roughly 27,000 square feet in area with a 50' drive isle around the building. The utilities for this project will comprise an on-site well and an onsite septic system for providing water and sewer services for the Maintenance Building. The power\ source for the facility will be from the electrical service provider and is currently not onsite. The deadline for pre-qualified contractors to submit proposals is yet to be determined. If the Albemarle County Office Building is closed for business at the time scheduled for bid opening, for whatever reason, sealed proposals will be accepted on the next scheduled business day, at the originally scheduled time. Any further proposals received will be ruled as late proposals and will be retained un-opened. Late proposals will not be considered. A Bid Bond is required with the proposals from the qualified contractors during the PART 2 of the process.
