Cut and remove vegetation (mainly Mangrove) above the ground and water along the riparian zone. The award of the contract, if awarded, shall be subject to the availability of funds. State riparian zone land abutting tax map keys (1) 1-2-021:035, 036, 041, 045, and other areas, approximately 1732.5 linear feet along waterline and between 10 to 90 feet of vegetation depth from dry land into the water. As shown on Exhibit A-1, Section A has clear access and staging area to vegetation. Section B has a narrow corridor between the water edge and metal fencing put up by neighboring private companies. The corridor of section B is about 12 feet wide with the ground being marsh land. There is access approximately 30 feet wide access to Section B through a metal fence of a private company area. Separate arrangements by the Contractor with the private property owner will need to be made for access. All questions shall be submitted through Electronically. The State will respond to questions by 4:00 pm on the day before the bids for the solicitation are due. This invitation for bid (IFB) may be cancelled and any of all proposals rejected in whole or in part, without liability to the State, when it is determined to be in the best interest of the State of Hawaii. Liquidated damages is fixed at the sum of ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00) per each and every calendar day the Contractor fails to perform in whole or in part any of his obligations specified herein. Liquidated damages, if assessed, may be deducted from any payments due or to become due to the Contractor. Term of Contract: The Contractor shall commence the work within two (2) weeks from the email sent by ODLO notifying the approval of the purchase order for the job. The Contractor shall complete the job described herein to the satisfaction of ODLO within four (8) calendar weeks of the commencement date described above. The job may extend past this time only if the contractor submits a written statement detailing the reason why extended time is needed and has the approval of the Contract Administrator or their Representative from ODLO.
