The Town of Carmel is currently seeking proposals for duct cleaning at Carmel Town Hall in accordance with the attached specifications. Contractor must pay New York State Department of Labor Prevailing wages, and must provide certification prior to payment. 2. Work shall be completed within five business days. All work shall be performed outside of normal Town Hall Business hours which is 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. 3. Contractor shall provide all labor and materials necessary to thoroughly clean the heating, cooling and ventilation systems, including all duct work, to eliminate dust, pet dander and other allergens. 4. Cleaning must be performed with the "positive-negative method". Negative machine utilizes shall be equipped with HEPA filtration. 5. Contractor shall use air compressors and air agitators to ensure all elements and ducts are thoroughly cleaned. 6. Contractor shall gain access in the main duct work, attach a negative air machine to the system and remove the vent covers. Contractor shall then clean grill/diffusers (air duct openings) and clean inside of vents. Contractor shall then introduce an agitator into the vent openings to dislodge all debris for the walls of the duct work. Method of agitation shall vary depending on the size and type of duct work, and shall include spin brushes and air operated whips. Contractor shall zone off furnace to ensure that no debris are pulled through the system. All debris collected shall be removed from the site and be disposed of in accordance with all relevant laws. 7. Work shall include the entire Carmel Town Hall including the Police Department and Main Meeting rooms. 8. After cleaning, contractor shall apply Bio-Cide Envirocon product in accordance with manufactures recommendation (see attached product bulletin). Prior to application, contractor shall supply to Engineer, a copy of the MSDS for this product. Contractor must provide insurance in accordance with Schedule "A" This is a lump sum price contract. No bonds are required.
