Renovation of a municipal facility in San Francisco, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

This Project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement of prevailing wage requirements by the California Department of Industrial Relations ("DIR") and the San Francisco Office of Labor Standards Enforcement. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed in a bid for a public works project and no contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public work on a public works project unless registered with the DIR per California Labor Code Section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under California Labor Code Section 1771.1(a)]. The objective of the project is to retrofit the lighting at One S. Van Ness, San Francisco with energy efficient LED lighting, throughout the building. The work is to be performed in San Francisco, California. The Engineer's Estimate is $485,000. The City may award the contract to the responsible Bidder that submits the lowest responsive Bid. Pre- Bid: When prompted, enter the meeting Passcode and # key. Attendance of remote attendees will be completed at the end of the pre-bid meeting. A Class "C-10" California Contractors License is required to bid. Furthermore, each listed subcontractor must possess appropriate active licenses for the work each subcontractor will be performing. In accordance with San Francisco Administrative Code Chapter 6, the City and County of San Francisco will not accept any offer/bid or award any contract in excess of $1,000,000 until such time as (a) the General Manager of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission recommends the contract for award and (b) the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission then adopts a resolution awarding the contract. Pursuant to Charter Section 3.105, all contract awards are subject to certification by the Controller as to the availability of funds. Bidders are hereby advised that the Contractor to whom the Contract is awarded must be certified by the Contract Monitoring Division as being in compliance with the Equal Benefits Provisions of Article 131 of the City's Labor and Employment Code within two weeks after notification of award by the SFPUC General Manager. If a Bidder objects on any ground to any bid specification or legal requirement imposed by this Invitation to Bid, the Bidder shall, no later than the 10th working day prior to the Bid due date, provide written notice to the Manager, Contract Administration Bureau, setting forth with specificity the grounds for the objection. Question Deadline 07/22/2024 Prior to receipt of Bids, should a Bidder find discrepancies, ambiguities, or conflicts in the Bid Documents, or should there be doubt as to meaning of a provision or requirement, the Bidder shall at once notify the City in writing using the Questions on Bid Documents ("QBD") form Section No. 00 21 14. Delivery shall be via facsimile at: (415) 553-4896 or email to QBD@sfwater.org. The City may not answer questions received less than 10 days prior to the date for opening Bids. A. The intent of this Contract is to provide the City with upgraded interior lighting at the One South Van Ness building in San Francisco. B. The City will be purchasing the light fixtures, occupancy sensors and switches and furnishing them to the Contractor. 1. The proposed City-furnished lighting equipment to be installed are included in Attachment A: LED Fixture a. The Contractor shall provide feedback and recommendations regarding the selected replacement fixtures and retrofit kits. In addition, the Contractor must confirm that the selected replacement fixtures and retrofit kits can be installed in their proposed location with respect to physical sizing, mounting, power supply, etc. Contractor will need to detail any fixture options or mounting kits that are needed for installation, beyond the base equipment noted in Attachment A. If additional items are required, the City will purchase those equipment based on Contractor-supplied product documents. b. The Contractor may propose alternative, equivalent equipment for City approval if it meets or exceeds the efficacy (lumens per watt), rated life, color rendering, warrantee, and color temperature of the currently specified fixtures listed and are DLC listed. c. City approval of Contractor submittals will be in regard to efficacy, rated life, color rendering, color temperature, aesthetics, and warrantee. Contractor will be responsible for ensuring fit, mounting, electrical and dimming compatibility, and other attributes for proper function of the lighting equipment. In the case of lighting equipment not being able to function properly due to improper fit, incompatibility or lack of specified functionality, Contractor will be responsible for any restocking, repackaging, shipping or other fees necessary to return the equipment in order for the City to be fully reimbursed for the unusable equipment.
