The Wiwa Creek Conservation & Development Area is tendering a Provincial Disaster Assistance Program project. The Wiwa Creek C&D project will require an Engineer and a Contractor to complete the replacement and repairs to the Saskatchewan Water Security approved cement control structure on the Wiwa Creek on the SE 2-13-6 W3 in the RM of Shamrock. The structure is located south west of the Village of Shamrock. The project needs to be replaced to its original specifications. In the spring of 2023 during a quick thaw the spring runoff damaged the control structure. Damage included: two 4429 mm x 2705 mm x 55 ft long structural plate arch pipe culverts road embankment acting as dike washed out, 8 m road top, 5 m high, 2:1 slopes on the inlet side, 1:1 side slopes on outlet side 1 m D x 3 m W x 2 m L scour hole formed below south side of concrete headwall Erosion of embankment, 5 locations approximately 0.7 m D x 1 m W x 10 m L each Cathodic Protection Rip rap washed away Here is a list of repairs that are required to return the control structure to operational. The Wiwa Creek C&D are working with a limited budget. In your tender please list a total for the completion of the project and a breakdown of the different repairs required. The PDAP has allotted specific amounts for each repair. Repairs: Remove existing culvert from inside cement headwall only. Extruding culverts have already been removed. Replace culverts - closest size manufactured is 4370 mm x 2870 mm Rebuild road embankment Repair scour hole below concrete headwall Repair erosion areas Install cathodic protection on new culverts - preference for culverts to be coated and eliminate cathodic protection Replace rip rap Pictures of the damaged structure are included under the downloadable documents.
