Renovation of a fire / police facility in New York, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

Construction of a fully operational Headquarters and Command Center for Broad Channel Volunteer Fire Department (BCVFD) at 305 Cross Bay Boulevard. The project includes construction of a two-story, approximately 10,000 gross square-foot (gsf) building, with the first floor containing an emergency operations communications and command center and space to house fire and ambulance apparatus, and as such, provide a fully operational facility. It also includes installation of green technology (solar power), battery backup, and an emergency generator and build out of the second floor, including communications systems, training rooms, offices and personnel quarters. The project will be completed through one ( 1 ) inclusive work contract consisting of General Construction, Electrical, HVAC, and Plumbing for which architectural and engineering design has been completed. Note that this project is EXEMPT from Wicks Requirements. A Project Labor Agreement (PLA) was executed on March 10, 2021. Question Deadline 07/18/2024 No formal pre-bidding meeting will be held. No later than forty-five (45) days after the bid opening, the Owner shall accept bids or reject all bids. After the bid opening, a bid may not be withdrawn prior to the date that is forty-five (45) days after such bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and advertise for new bids, if in its opinion the best interest of the Owner will hereby be promoted. The completion date for this project is May 1, 2026. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in the statutory form of public bonds required by Section 137 of the State Finance Law, each for one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract. All RFI's must be submitted no later than one week prior to the bid opening to allow for timely preparation and distribution of the Addendum prior to the bid opening. Question Deadline 07/18/2024 Liquidated damages will be assessed for each day of delay based on the agreed upon start date for this contract. The amount of Liquidated Damages will be based on the table in Article 14.10.
