The Town's water distribution system has 18 miles of cast iron (C.I.) pipe ranging in age from 40-80+ years. Although C.I. is serviceable beyond 80 years, staff will evaluate and schedule for replacement of problematic sections of the system that are experiencing increasing breaks and maintenance requirements. These are the first of a multi-year waterline replacement program to replace the older cast iron water mains with ductile iron pipe. Other locations of specific sections of pipe for replacement will be based on most recent break and maintenance records to set priorities. The replacement of the Mountain Tank Waterline was previously listed as a separate project. The funding has been consolidated with this project. The project is included in the City's 2023-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of January 10, 2025, per owner, this project is an ongoing project throughout the year with several contractors contributing to the work provided. Oversite is being provided by the Town’s Superintendent of Public Utilities *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
