Disclaimer: IN ORDER FOR YOUR BID TO BE CONSIDERED A LEGAL BONAFIDE BIDDER ON THE PROJECT, DOCUMENTS MUST BE PURCHASED FROM REMINGTON, VERNICK ENGINEERS DIRECTLY NO BIDS ARE TO BE PICKED UP AT THE ENGINEER'S OFFICE OR AT THE MUNICIPALITY OFFICES. PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED PRIOR TO OBTAINING SAID SPECIFICATIONS. NO BIDS ARE TO BE DROPPED OFF AT THE ENGINEER'S OFFICE. The Township of Saddle Brook reserves the right to consider the bids for sixty (60) days after the receipt thereof, and further reserves the right to reject any or all bids, either in whole or in part and also to waive any informality in any and make such awards or take action as may be in the best interest of the Township of Saddle Brook, in accordance with applicable law. Bids must be on the bid form prepared by Remington and Vernick Engineers, in the manner designated therein and required by the specifications, must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidder on the outside and also bearing on the outside reference to the particular work bid upon. Said bids shall be addressed to Peter Lo Dico, Township Clerk, Township of Saddle Brook, 55 Mayhill Street, Saddle Brook, NJ 07663. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the Township of Saddle Brook in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) but in no case in excess of $20,000.00 of the amount bid. Any such bid bond shall be without endorsement or conditions. Bids shall also be accompanied by a certificate letter from a surety company stating that it will provide the bidder with the completion bond. The award of the contract shall be made subject to the necessary moneys to do the work being provided by the Township of Saddle Brook in a lawful manner. The contract to be executed by the successful bidder will provide that it shall not become effective until the necessary moneys to do the work have been provided by the Township of Saddle Brook in a lawful manner. The award shall further be subjected to the securing of necessary State, Federal or Local permits governing the work. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., N.J.A.C. 17:27 (Affirmative Action), N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq.(New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act), and Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. S12101, et seq.). The contractor is further notified that he must comply with N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2 and submit a Disclosure Statement listing stockholders with his bid. The contractor is further notified that he must comply with N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq. Public Works Contractor Registration Act and he and any subcontractors must be registered in accordance with the act. The contractor is also further notified that he must comply with N.J.S.A. 52:32-44 and submit proof of business registration and submit proof of business registration for any named subcontractors in accordance with the act. 1. The work for this project includes, but it not necessarily limited to the following major work items: a) Milling of the existing asphalt pavement surface of the roadway to a depth of 2" and resurfacing the roadway with a new 9.5M64 hot mix asphalt wearing course, 2" thick when compacted, as shown on the plans. b) Full depth pavement restoration in front of replaced curbs and where directed by the Engineer, including DGA and asphalt base course up to the milled surface. c) Reset utility castings, including inlets, sanitary manholes and storm manholes. Reset vent and valve boxes as needed within the limit of the project and/or as detailed on the plans. d) Remove and replace existing concrete curb and sidewalk, including locations at and around ADA ramps as indicated on the plans or directed by the Engineer and/or Inspector in the field. The contractor shall coordinate grade elevations with a Remington & Vernick Engineer and/or Inspector in the field. e) Replacement of storm inlet heads and grates as shown on the plans. f) Restore all disturbed areas in kind in the same condition or better prior to commencing improvements. This shall include topsoiling, seeding, and fertilizing. g) All related incidental work, including but not limited to, maintenance and protection of traffic, dust control, soil erosion, and cleaning and restoration. 2. The contractor shall be responsible for the location of all utilities and to schedule all work involved with utilities. Any cost related to this coordination shall be included in the various items in the proposal. 3. Contractors will be responsible for on-site safety and shall provide a qualified on-site safety appointee at all times for the duration of the project. The above Scope of Work outlines the general items and shall not be construed as being all-inclusive.
