The City of Ames is requesting bids from qualified contractors to replace carpet, lay vinyl flooring, and resurface the hardwood floor for the Parks and Recreation Department Administration Office, located at 1500 Gateway Hills Park Drive, Ames, Iowa. The City of Ames reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to make such awards as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City. 1. Remove existing base throughout the building and dispose of immediately (no storage on site). Contractor is responsible for means of disposal. 2. Remove existing carpet and dispose of immediately (no storage on site). Under the carpet in the office area is two layers of vinyl tile flooring. Do not remove this tile but lay carpet over the existing vinyl tile flooring. Contractor is responsible for means of disposal. 3. Lay resilient vinyl tile over existing flooring in hallway, restrooms, and kitchen. 4. Check for squeaks and secure loose floorboards.5. Appropriately prepare the existing floor for new carpet or tile. 6.
