The City of Wrightsville is seeking bids from qualified roofing contractors for the emergency replacement of the roof on the City Hall Complex. This includes the Civic Center, Offices, and Gymnasium. Wrightsville is a city in Pulaski County, Arkansas with a population of 1,542 as of the 2020 census. It is governed by a Mayor-Council system, with the current mayor being Derrick M. Rainey. The City was founded on July 14, 1973 and incorporated on June 2, 1982. Wrightsville hasbeen home to the Arkansas Department of Corrections Wrightsville Unit since 1981, which is a major employer in the community. This facility was built on the land that previously housed the Arkansas Negro Boys' Industrial School, a segregated reformatory school where a tragic fire in 1959 led to the deaths of 21 African American boys. The City is seeking bids from qualified roofing contractors for the emergency replacement of the roof on the City Hall Complex. This includes the Civic Center, Offices, and Gymnasium. The scope includes full removal and replacement of the 20,000+ sqft roof area, including all materials, labor, permits, and disposal fees. Work must be completed within 30 days of the contract award. Work shall be completed by August 20, 2024. Any time over the allowable timeframe may result in liquidated damages.
