Site work, paving and renovation of a civil project in Dysart, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and water / sewer project.

The work generally consists of purchasing, delivering, setting & installing two (2) backup generators, two (2) automatic transfer switches, two (2) 1,000-gallon LP tanks filled with eight hundred (800) gallons of LP each, twenty (20) cubic yards of topsoil stripping, salvaging, and placement (on-site), fifty (18) cubic yards of excavation, one hundred (100) square yards of 6" modified subbase, and fifty (50) square yards of 12" PCC Pavement. The Work is located at the Sanitary Sewer Lift Stations (3271 190TH Street & 301 Sherman Street) in Dysart, Iowa. The City Engineer's opinion of probable construction cost for the Work is $165,000. The award of the contract is tentatively scheduled for November 13th, 2024. Award will be subject to the City Engineer reviewing the bids for math errors, unusual bids, or other informalities. The requirements and provisions of the CDBG shall apply to this project, which include federal rules and regulations pertaining to labor relations such as the payment of "Davis-Bacon" prevailing wages. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of contract a corporate surety bond, in a form acceptable to the City, for the faithful performance of the contract, in an amount equal to 100% of the amount of the contract. The bidder's security shall be in the amount fixed in the Instruction to Bidders, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid and shall be in the form of a cashier's check or a certified check drawn on an FDIC insured bank in Iowa or on an FDIC insured bank chartered under the laws of the United States; or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States; or a bid bond on the form provided in the contract documents with corporate surety satisfactory to the City. The bid shall contain no condition except as provided in the specifications. The successful bidder shall be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of 100% of the contract amount. The City Council of the City of Dysart, lowa, reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities and technicalities, and to enter into such contracts as it deems in the best interest of the City. The City reserves the right to defer acceptance of any proposal for 30 calendar days after the bids have been received and opened.
