The City of Emporia is requesting proposals for the City's 2024 Concrete Pavement Preservation Program. The program will consist of removing and replacing concrete paving, sidewalk, curb and gutter, and ADA ramps. Enclosed is a copy of Instructions, specifications, and proposal form for the chip seal, crack seal, leveling course, and fog seal. The proposals shall include all pertinent information such as mix design so that city staff can make an informed recommendation for award. Bid, statutory, and performance bonds will be required for this project. A bid bond will not be required. A certified cashier's check, bid bond, or money order made payable to the City of Emporia, in amount of 5% of the bid, may be required of all bidders. The bid bond or check of the successful bidder shall be retained by the City until completion of the work or submittal of a performance bond (if applicable) to ensure the delivery of the supplies and/or service at the specified time and/or the successful completion of the project. A performance bond satisfactory to the City, executed by a surety company authorized to do business in Kansas or otherwise secured in a manner satisfactory to the City for the performance of the work provided for in the contract, in an amount equal to 100% of the price specified in the contract; A payment bond to the State of Kansas satisfactory to the City, executed by a surety company authorized to do business in Kansas or otherwise secured in a manner satisfactory to the City, for the protection of all persons supplying labor, materials, equipment or supplies to the contractor or its subcontractors for the performance of the work provided for in the contract.
