Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Merrionette Park, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The work shall consist of the rehabilitation of 118th Street (600 feet) as indicated in the bid documents. The work shall include milling and overlay and/or full-depth replacement of asphalt pavement, repair to curb and gutter, and sidewalk replacement as shown in the project plans, as well as the restoration of property disturbed because of this work. All proposals or bids offered must be accompanied by a bid bond in a minimum amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid. All laborers and mechanics employed by the Contractor and all subcontractors on a construction site for this project shall be paid wages at rates not less than those prevailing on similar construction in the locality as determined by the Secretary of Labor in accordance with the Davis-Bacon Act as amended (40 U.S.C. 276-276s-5). The Contractor and Subcontractors shall comply with all regulations issued pursuant to these Acts and other applicable Federal Laws and regulations pertaining to labor standards. An explanation of all Applicable Federal Requirements is provided in the Special Provisions section of the Bid Specifications. The Village of Merrionette Park reserves the right to reject all bids or accept any part of a bid. Project Description The proposed project will consist of the rehabilitation of various streets as indicated on the attached map. The work shall include milling and overlay and/or full-depth replacement of asphalt pavements, repairs to curb and gutter, sidewalk, and driveways, and pavement markings as shown in the project plans, as well as the restoration of property disturbed because of this work. Project Schedule The Village expects that the successful Bidder will begin construction activities immediately following the Pre-Construction Meeting and submit a schedule outlining target completion dates for milestone tasks, including those performed by subcontractors. Any Bidder who submits a proposal must understand that time is of the essence and be prepared to adhere to the target dates established in the Pre-Construction Meeting. The Village Engineer may require periodic meetings or updates to ensure that work is progressing as expected. If the Contractor requires an adjustment to the schedule for any reason, he/she shall schedule a meeting with the Village Engineer to discuss and seek approval of the adjustment.
