Summary Project Description: The project consists of removing existing TPO roof membrane and insulation, metal coping, expansion joint. Replace with new, vapor barrier, insulation, cover board, EPDM membrane, coping and expansion joint. A. Construction Operations: Limited to the boundaries of the property line indicated on the plans. 1. Locate and conduct construction activities in ways that will limit disturbance to site. B. Arrange use of site and premises to allow: 1. Owner occupancy. C. Provide access to and from site as required by law and by Owner: 1. Emergency Building Exits During Construction: Keep all exits required by code open during construction period; provide temporary exit signs if exit routes are temporarily altered. 2. Do not obstruct roadways, sidewalks, or other public ways without permit. The Iowa DOT is seeking competitive bids for a roof replacement at the Ames Complex Skywalk. The project consists of removing existing Coating and replace with new 60 mil EPDM fully adhered material as per the attached specifications. Insulation to be replaced meeting R-values noted on plans. Contractor to ensure building is weather tight while construction is ongoing. Work to be done during regular working hours and days M - F 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, CT, or coordinated with on-site DOT staff. Site location: Ames Complex Skywalk 800 Lincoln Way Ames, IA 50010 Estimated project start date: 8/1/24 Estimated completion date: 6/30/25 Award: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible contractor whose submitted quote is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. Other factors may also include a comprehensive review of bidders past work performance, and work capacity. Warranty: 1 year warranty with a 20 year material warranty required; refer to specifications on the Attachment Tab for other warranty requirements.
