Landfills have litter collection staff and is routinely able to keep up with the collection of windblown litter at and around Maui County Landfills. However, after extended periods of high winds or when active landfilling takes place in areas more subject to wind, additional labor hours are periodically needed for litter control to meet regulatory compliance. CML offices are located at the entrance to the approximate 80 acre landfill site. The upper deck also features a recycling area. Located at the lower deck of the facility are the scale house and residential trash unloading area. Landfilling occurs in various Phases on both sides of Kalialinui Gulch. Major areas of work for litter are within the perimeter of CML 80 acre property, but also include Pulehu Road, areas adjacent to CML south property line and Mahi Pono fields adjacent to CML and across the landfill. The CML Worksite Supervisor shall direct personnel to specific areas of work, as needed. A specific area will be provided for the Contractor to set up a rest area. The Contractor may use the portable toilets that are established throughout CML property. The Contractor is responsible to provide all other utilities required. A bid bond and performance bond are not required. This is an Indefinite Quantity Contract, no hours are guaranteed, and is an On-Call service Contract. This project consists of providing litter collection labor services for all Maui County Landfills in Maui, Hawaii on an on-call basis. The contract period is for approximately one (1) yea from the date of the Notice to Proceed through June 30, 2025 with the option to extend three (3) additional six (6) month period When the County calls upon the Contractor to provide labor for litter collection services, the Contractor shall provide CML, at minimum, a crew of three (3), one (1) Working Supervisor and two (2) Laborers. For MLF, LLF & HLF a minimum of one (1) Laborer. The County shall at a minimum request three days of work at a time with a minimum of 6 hours of work per day and up to 8 hours of work per day. The County reserves the right to request additional laborers if available. The County will give 48 hours, prior notice when calling for work. The County reserves the right to suspend Contractor work.
