Saving Project...

Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Farmers Branch, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

Rawhide Trail Phase 1. Scope The City of Farmers Branch is undertaking a project to widen a popular concrete trail to enhance its usability and accommodate more users. The existing trail, currently 8 feet wide, will be replaced with a new 12-foot-wide trail. The new trail alignment has not surveyed but has been walked and visually assessed by City staff. This project is critical due to the trail's heavy usage and its alignment parallel to a creek, which presents unique challenges, including flooding issues in certain areas. Consequently, while some segments of the new trail will follow the existing path, adjustments will be necessary in flood-prone areas to mitigate these concerns. The project will involve additional tasks such as excavating, tree removal, and elevating low spots, and relocating dirt as needed. It is important to note that replanting of trees and sodding are excluded from the scope of this project. Given the trail's popularity, the project will be executed in phases to minimize disruption to users. The aim is to keep as much of the trail open as possible, closing only sections that are actively being worked on. Additional considerations include storm water control and implementing light traffic control measures in the adjacent low-traffic residential area. This phased approach not only ensures safety and accessibility for the public but also facilitates a smoother construction process. Bidders are expected to plan their work schedules and site management strategies accordingly, taking into account these operational requirements and the need to maintain a balance between construction efficiency and public convenience. The Contractor, upon execution of the Contract and before beginning work, shall furnish to the City a proper Maintenance Bond in the amount of one hundred (100%) percent of the contract amount written by an approved surety company covering the guarantee and maintenance prescribed above. The period of the Maintenance Bond shall be one (1) year from the date of final acceptance of all work done under the Contract, to cover the guarantee as set forth in the Special Conditions. In accordance with Chapter 2253 of the Texas Government Code, payment bonds in the amount of not less than one-hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price conditioned upon the faithful performance of the Contract, and upon payment of all persons supplying labor or furnishing materials, for projects with a bid amount in excess of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00), will be required upon the forms which are a part of the Contract documents. In accordance with Chapter 2253 of the Texas Government Code, a performance bond in the amount of not less than one-hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price conditioned upon the faithful performance of the Contract, and upon payment of all persons supplying labor or furnishing materials, for projects with a bid amount in excess of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00), will be required upon the forms which are a part of the Contract documents. The Owner may make such investigations as it deems necessary to determine the ability of the bidder to perform the work, and the bidder shall furnish to the Owner all such information and data for this purpose as the Owner may request. The Owner reserves the right to reject any bid if the evidence submitted, either by the bidder or from an investigation of the bidder, fails to satisfy the Owner that such bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the Contract and therefore to complete the work contemplated herein. Conditional bids will not be accepted. Each bid must be accompanied by cashier's or certified check of the bidder, or a bid bond duly executed by the bidder as principal and having a surety thereon, a surety company approved by the Owner (refer to Section #6. Notice to Bidders), in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid. Such cash, checks or bid bonds will be returned promptly after the Owner and the accepted bidder have executed the Contract or, if no award has been made within ninety (90) days after the date of the opening of bids, upon demand of the bidder at any time thereafter, so long as the bidder has not been notified of the acceptance of its bid. Contractor will be responsible for ensuring all final grades meet TDLR/ADA requirements.
