Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in La Vista, Nebraska. Working plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

Identified as the 84th St Trail, GilesHarrison, La Vista, the project is approximately 1 mile in length and is located on 84th St. in the City of La Vista, starting approximately at the intersection of 84th and Harrison and extending south to the intersection of 84th and Giles. Construction may begin and/or end approximately 500 feet ahead of or beyond the actual project limits to accommodate transitioning the pavement. The purpose of this project is to improve and expand alternative transportation options and recreational opportunities in the City of La Vista (City) and improve connectivity to Central Park and City Centre. The project is consistent with the City Capital Improvement Program and Park and Recreation Master Plan. The need for the project is to provide safe and unrestricted pedestrian access across 84th St. connecting the City west of 84th St. and the City east of 84th St. The project would facilitate future connection of existing trails between Park View Blvd. west of 84th St. and Edgewood Blvd. east of 84th St. The project would further provide increased access and community neighborhood connections to Central Park and City Centre venues. Minor grading would be required where the underpass is constructed to match existing grading. The improvements on this project would consist of constructing a pedestrian trail on both sides of 84th St. from Giles Rd. to Harrison St. and an underpass under 84th St. along the existing Thompson Creek. The underpass would facilitate the construction of a bridge on 84th St. carrying existing traffic lanes and accommodating the proposed pedestrian trails on both the east and west sides of 84th St. The bridge over Thompson Creek and the new pedestrian trail would be constructed as a new structure. A grade raise is not anticipated. Guardrail would be replaced. The proposed project would require the acquisition of additional property rights, which could include permanent easements (PE), and/or temporary easements (TE). If your property is impacted by this project, you will be contacted by a representative once the design footprint has been established. Access to adjacent properties would be maintained during construction but may be limited at times due to traffic phasing requirements. Work would be required in the waterway. The trail corridor is anticipated to impact wetland resources along the project. The construction of the trail is anticipated to have limited impacts to publicly owned parks or recreation areas with some grading and the trail extending into Central Park along the parks western boundary. Mitigation would occur as needed to minimize impacts. This project would be constructed under traffic with lane closures controlled by appropriate traffic control devices and practices. Phasing requirements for the underpass on 84th St. would temporarily impact access to nearby intersections. 84th St. traffic would be reduced to one-lane in each direction between approximately City Centre Drive and Park View Blvd. The proposed project is currently in the preliminary design phase. The project is tentatively scheduled to begin construction as early as fall of 2025 with completion anticipated by winter of 2026.
