Rock Slope Stabilization along Sussex Turnpike (C.R. 617) in the Township of Randolph for the Morris County Department of Public Works, Division of Engineering & Transportation consisting of, but not limited to, 768 L.F. Individual Rock Bolts, 5,088 L.F. Rock Bolts Within Double Twisted Netting (DTN), 29,820 S.F. Double Twisted Net (DTN), 20 Units Tree Removal, Over 6" to 12" Diameter, 33 Units - Tree Removal, Over 12" to 18" Diameter, 16 Units - Tree Removal, Over 18" to 24" Diameter, 14 Units - Tree Removal, Over 24" to 30" Diameter, 8 Units - Tree Removal, Over 30" to 36" Diameter, 2 Units - Tree Removal, Over 36" Diameter, in addition to other miscellaneous items. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in the amount often percent (10%) (not to exceed $20,000.00) of the total bid, payable to the County of Morris, as a guarantee that if the contract is awarded to the Bidder, they will enter into a contract and provide the necessary bonds and insurance as required by the County and the Division of Risk Management. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond, Payment Bond and Maintenance Bond as specified in the Contract Documents. Description The work in this Section will conform to the Contract Drawings and the requirements of the Contract Terms and Conditions. The work specified in this Section shall include all labor, materials, equipment, plant, and incidentals to complete the installation of rock reinforcement, consisting of corrosion protected rock bolts identified as individual rock bolt, top and bottom rock bolt, and intermediate rock bolt for double twisted net (DTN). Work included, but not limited to: A. B. Installation of Rock Bolts at the locations shown on the Drawings, or as directed by the Engineer, including individual rock bolts and bolts for double twisted net (DTN). The rock bolt will generally consist of galvanized one (1) inch diameter 150 ksi minimum ultimate strength thread bar encapsulated in resin or resin and cement grout. Three types of rock bolts will be installed in this project, identified as follows: 1. 2. 3. Individual Rock Bolt: Will be installed to support individual rock blocks. The minimum required length of this type of rock bolt is 15 feet including 10 feet bonded (fixed) length and 5 feet free length. DTN Top and Bottom Rock Bolts: Will be installed to support the double twisted net (DTN) at the crest and the toe of the slope. These bolts will be installed at the vertical connection (overlap) between two DTNs. The maximum horizontal spacing between two DTN top/bottom rock bolts will be 12 feet which is the typical roll width of DTN. The minimum required length of this type of rock bolt is 11 feet including 8 feet bonded (fixed) length and 3 feet free length. DTN Intermediate Rock Bolt: Will be installed to support the double twisted net (DTN) at mid heights of the slope and such that the maximum vertical spacing along the slope is 9 ft.
